Preseason picks

There are a few players who are drawing the eye in preseason games.

Anthony Martial £7.0
Well well, look who seems to be filling a Ronaldo shaped void in the preseason. Martial has been in inspired form, chipping in with goals and assists along with demonstrating some strong skills in the press - which must look great to Ten Hag and how he likes to play. He is looking like the main striker now for United in the current, and possibly continued, absence of Cristiano Ronaldo. So, despite some tricky opening fixtures, he must surely be worth keeping tabs on with his current price. Not to mention his xG number when you consider he will be fed the ball by the likes of Eriksen, Fernandes, Sancho and a revitalised Rashford.

Pedro Neto £5.5
Wolverhampton Wonderer's Neto is another player in fine fettle for his side so far this summer, with 3 goals and 1 assist so far. Priced at a modest £5.5m having missed most of last season through serious injury. Before suffering the broken patella that kept him out for so long, Neto was doing well in the 2020/21 season - averaging a goal or assist roughly every 2 games, which are great numbers for such a cheaply priced midfielder. Although dropping away in the 2nd half of last season Bruno Lage's Wolves had produced some big wins combined with solid defending too. Goals were an issue so with his good showing in these preseason games Neto must have earnt himself a starting birth this season. Other than Tottenham away, Wolves have a favourable fixture list for the first 6 games of the 22/23 season.

Leon Bailey £5.0
Another player blighted by injuries last season is Aston Villa's Leon Bailey, these injuries and lack of game time has contributed to his price being just £5.0m at the start of this season. He has been playing brilliantly in the summer practice games and currently has 3 goals and 2 assists to his name. When fit last season he chipped in with a goal and 3 assists in 750 minutes of action, so if he can continue with these kind of numbers into this season then the Jamaican could prove to be an absolute bargain.

Gabriel Jesus £8.0
Jesus has been in scintillating form for Arsenal since his arrival from Champions Manchester City. He has scored 7 goals including a great hat trick in his Emirates debut against Sevilla. From playing a fairly bit part role at Manchester City for so long, the forward looks to be relishing being the main man for his team. With this current goal scoring form and Arsenal's fairly decent looking early fixtures, Jesus is surely a must for Fantasy manager opening weekend squads.

Harry Kane £11.5
Kane has been performing very well for Tottenham this summer with 5 goals in 4 games. Tottenham are looking like a different beast under Antonio Conte and since his arrival mid way through last season Kane has been in great form and thriving under the Italian. Tottenham's opening fixtures are favourable and Paritici has made some savvy signings to bolster the squad and help service him. With this in mind it's a brave FPL manager that leaves Kane out of their starting roster.
