Dream Team: GW 8

Updated: Oct 17, 2022

In this article we build a team for the week with £100 million. Here is this weeks' team of players we think can rake in the points this weekend. Two messy weeks of FPL have been put on us, but we do know the games that will be going ahead this weekend. It is refreshing to leave out Liverpool and Chelsea players, who have not been performing well. Brighton have become an unknown quantity again as they lost their excellent, and possibly overperforming, manager last week.

Formation 3-4-3 Team Value: £100.0

Forwards

Mitrovic FUL £6.9

The first spot was the toughest decision to make with Toney, Mitrovic and Jesus with good games and strong form. In the end we went for Mitrovic who comes up against a leaky Forest defence. He's maintaining his Championship form from last season in which he smashed all the records by scoring 43 goals in 46 games. Fulham have a great run of games on the horizon so hopefully we be seeing a lot of him in our team of the week as he is such a good price.

Haarland MCI £12.0

The second striker position was the easiest one. of the lot. The best player in the game right now. An absolute must.

Kane TOT £11.4

Another easy choice for us. Harry Kane has consistently battered Leicester over the years in the Premier League. This weekend he faces probably the worst Leicester team of the lot so we are banking on him getting a haul here. The fixture looks set to go ahead this weekend at White Hart Lane as planned at the time of writing too. With all the cancelled games Kane is one of few premier players to be a guaranteed starter as well, so he takes the last striker position in this weeks' team.

Midfielders

Martinelli ARS £6.5

Martinelli takes the first midfield birth. We think there will be goals in this game. Martinelli gets in the box to get on the end of things as well as supply service to |Jesus. Although it is a London derby and away from home, Arsenal will be keen to correct the recent defeat to Manchester United. Arsenal will be rested and more prepared as a result of their game against PSV being postponed this week. Brentford have also only kept 1 clean sheet this season and do play on the front foot which makes them vulnerable at the back where Martinelli will be lurking.

Son TOT £11.7

We know we know, he is looking a shadow of his last season self. But class is permanent, form temporary as they say and we are really liking Spurs' history against Leicester. He came off early midweek so is likely to start. With just 9.3% ownership Son can be a differential to really move you up the league if he hits big this weekend. Fingers crossed.

Bowen WHU £8.1

Jarrod Bowen was one of the stand out players for West Ham last season and comes up against a pretty poor Everton team at Goodison this weekend. Although he has had no attacking returns this season, West Ham have had a difficult run of games. We are hoping he can recapture last season's scintillating form which saw him register 12 goals and 17 assists for West Ham in the Premier League. Will start as he was benched in Europe this week.

Bailey AVL £4.7

Bailey has disappointed a bit this season after a great pre season showing that many believed he would carry on into the League. Suffice to say Aston Villa have been pretty awful so far and Bailey struggled until the last game when he got one against Man City. He is at a great price as a result of his bad form and will be at home to Southampton this week. Let's hope he can pretend it's just a summer friendly.

Defenders

Cancelo MCI £7.1

One of the standout attacking defenders in past seasons game but hasn't performed quite as highly so far this season. Cancelo has been getting returns in his last few games though and also seems to be one of the few players to be pretty immune to "Pep Roulette". He is up against a low scoring Wolves team this weekend so we are hope he can get both offensive and defensive points here.

Trippier NEW £5.2

Kieren Tripper has been leading Newcastle to some great results this season. As well as being strong in defence for a team that has 3 clean sheets this season, he also takes free kicks and scored a beauty against Man City. Surely he will bank some points this weekend against a low scoring Bournemouth team.

Sessengnon £4.5

We are taking a bit of a gamble here as it may be Perisic who starts this weekend, but we are banking on Ryan getting the nod as Ivan played the full 90 against Lisbon this week. Has provided returns at both ends of the pitch since Conte's arrival at Tottenham.

.

Goalkeeper

Pope NEW £5.1

Pope is having a great season between the sticks for Newcastle since his summer arrival from Burnley. He is currently the top scoring goalie in the game, so it is an easy choice to put him in goal when he is playing at home against one of the league's lowest scoring teams.

Subs

1. Andreas FUL £4.6

Great price for an attacking midfielder for a Fulham team holding their own this season and with a striker on top of his game in Mitrovic to play forward with. Fulham are away to Forest this weekend. Forest have changed a lot since last season when both teams were playing each other in the Championship, but Fulham have proven themselves to be more than capable of putting up a fight. He gets our first sub position this week,

2. Patterson EVE £4.1

A great value and active wing back, Nathan Patterson has the potential for some strong attacking returns. He hasn't had a proper striker to feed as yet, but maybe the signing of Neal Maupay can help with that. Still a great value bench option with potential for a clean sheet.

3. Williams NFO £4.1

Despite losing to Burnemouth last game Neco registered his first assist of the season. Lovely value for an active wing back and a great price for a sub.

GK. Begovic EVE £4.0

Begovic will be called into service against West Ham this weekend as a result of Pickford's injury. He makes our final sub as he is priced as a back up 'keeper and not up against Tottenham's attack.
